Creating Family Unity

Family Business Breakfast Series

Friday, November 2, 2018

Family dynamics are what can make a family firm thrive, but can also be what holds them back. As each member of the family brings his or her differences to the family and business, help can be needed to identify ways to normalize these dynamics. All parties have different drivers and see things through a different lens. When we don’t understand each other, that can lead to pain points at home and in the office, for families, employees and the business. At this breakfast series event, attendees will learn how to develop trust, communication and relationships with each other, to set themselves on a path to better business and family outcomes.

Gary S. Shunk is a family dynamics consultant for Wells Fargo Private Bank. He plays a leadership role in developing the Family Dynamics program, and is responsible for helping high net worth clients successfully address their concerns at the intersection of the financial and non-financial issues families of wealth face.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Shunk ran his own family enterprise consulting and coaching practice. Additionally, he was an associate in the Family Business Center of the Quinlan Business School at Loyola University Chicago. There he co-designed and co-taught custom programs for business owning families on the emotional issues present in the family business environment. He also coached next generation family leaders, and facilitated inter-generational family institutes.

First-time attendees are invited to join us for breakfast as our guest to see if it meets the needs of your family. Regular registration for one breakfast is $200 per family or sign on for the whole season (seven breakfasts) for $1,250.
