About Us

Campus AerialsThe Shenehon Center for Real Estate is named in honor of the Shenehon Company, whose namesake is Howard E. Shenehon (1914-2000). The company is a Minneapolis-based real estate and business valuation firm serving both the public and private sectors throughout the United States. Robert J. Strachota ‘75, William C. Herber ’75 and other Shenehon shareholders and principles made this gift possible.

The University of St. Thomas gratefully acknowledges the Shenehon Company for its support promoting excellence in real estate education.


As part of the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business, the Shenehon Center for Real Estate  serves as a resource to the commercial, industrial, residential and corporate segments of real estate industry and the community to advance the public interest in real estate issues.

  • For more than 15 years, the Shenehon Center for Real Estate has supported the improvement in real estate leadership and management by:
  • Creating and developing real estate leadership and management programs for undergraduate and graduate degree programs and professional development
  • Providing a neutral forum to convene real estate professionals to share best practices
  • Supporting and working with local real estate industry organizations
  • Conducting real estate research
  • Developing mechanisms to transfer leading edge business practices to the real estate industry

UST Real Estate Advisory Board

The UST Real Estate Advisory Board guides the activities of all of the UST Real Estate programs.  Members of this advisory board are prominent leaders of the real estate community from the Twin Cities area.

Board members are instrumental in advising the program in areas such as

  • curriculum review
  • providing new program suggestions
  • supporting activities of each program
  • coordination of mentors to connect students and alumni with industry professionals
